I love starting my day with a smoothie, and lately, I’ve been enjoying this delicious Super Green Smoothie! It’s easy-to-make and is packed with vitamins and minerals. Since I use organic kale and organic spinach, this smoothie is rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K, as well as vitamins B1, B2, B3, and B6. When we eat our greens, we also get amazing minerals such as calcium, iron, manganese, potassium, magnesium, copper, and more. Dark leafy greens also contain omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, folate, and protein. It’s no wonder these foods have all been hailed superfoods – they certainly are! The list of benefits of including greens in our diet goes on and on, so without further ado, here’s my recipe for my Super Green Smoothie!
Ingredients:
Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free
1 cup organic baby spinach (pack the cup with lots of spinach!)
1/2 cup organic kale
1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple (the more pineapple you add, the sweeter that your smoothie will taste)
1 ripe banana (the riper, the better!)
2 tablespoons ground flaxseeds (optional)
3/4 cups of water (more or less; adjust to your desired thickness)
Add all of the ingredients to your blender, blend, and enjoy!
